Tales from the Taylors: Date Night

So last month, Daniel and I were chatting about budgeting. It is a favorite topic at our home :) I was asking Daniel if he has ever just gone shopping to blow money on something. He is a very good saver and budgeter. He is also very good at researching things before buying them. I on the other hand can see something at a store and just buy it, quite happily I might add. So as we talked I discovered Daniel has never (that he can remember) just blown money on something. It has always been planned out. For a fun Friday night activity, we decided to just spend money. To make it easier, we decided to just spend money on each other. We agreed that $25 wasn't too much to spend. We wrote down our sizes and drove to the mall. We got there and decided to meet at a certain spot at a certain time. If we needed more time, we could call each other on our cell phones and extend the time. It was so much fun! I think I went into about 12 stores, Daniel about 10. I think I enjoyed it more than Daniel since I enjoy shopping. He on the other hand had a bit of a difficult time, but the ladies at his stores were more than wiling to help a good looking guy in need. (They all thought it was such a "cute idea" when he explained things to them) When we met up at Mrs. Fields I noticed that their cookies were 1/2 off since it was the end of the night. So, we had a cheap treat for our date :) Here are pictures of us "opening" our gifts.
