Bow Ties and a Baby Boy

My brother Christian and his wife Laura decided to come visit Utah the weekend of St. Patrick's Day. We decided to throw her a baby shower that weekend rather than making her drive up again in June when she's due. She is having a baby boy.  They haven't decided on a name yet, but I'm sure it will fit the little guy.  Since she is having a little boy we decided to do a bow-tie theme.  We had bow-tie salads, cupcakes with bow-ties and bow-tie candy favors. It was lots of fun to plan.  We had all of our relatives come to the shower. It was probably really overwhelming to Laura since she's only met 3 of our aunts, who came to her wedding. She met everyone else for the first time. In fact, only 1 of those known 3 aunts came. So most of the guests were meeting Laura for the first time. Laura was a trooper and handled it just fine :)

Aunt Karen Beal, Aunt Sandi Balling, Mom

Mom, Amy Checketts and Aly Goalen

Aunt Steph Blaisdell and Aunt Tina Rothe

Rachael Bangerter, Rebecca and Aunt Chris Burningham

Annie put together this adorable matching game. If you got a match, you got a candy of some sort associated with the match. Like Epidural=lifesavers, Contractions=Whoppers, etc.

I didn't think to close the window blinds behind Laura so the pictures wouldn't be dark-oops! She got some darling things! Boy clothes have come a long way-Thank Goodness!

I couldn't resist. I had to get her books. I know I know. I'm a sucker for books.

Laura's mom was so cute and sent gifts for Chels and me too!

She sent us all cute clothes from American Apparel.  Here are the hats. Laura got greys, Chels blue and grey and I got pink and grey. American Apparel clothes are great. They get softer every time you wash them. I have two shirts and I love wearing them cuz they are soo soft! My little one will be fun to cuddle when she's wearing them :)

  1. Baby shower's are the best! Looks like it was quite the party and so fun. I am loving your little baby bump. It's so cute! I am also glad that your sister-in-law looks like me when it comes to being pregnant and we are both due in June. Helps me feel like I'm on the right track! :)
