Love Day

Daniel was in charge of Valetnines' Day this year.  He did a great job in planning and surprising me throughout the day.  At work, the secretary delivered these flowers to my room.

When I got home, I found construction hearts leading from where I parked my car up the stairs and into the house. Inside there were two different paths of construction hearts. One path led to the family room and couch.

The second path led to our bedroom where a wrapped present was on our bed surrounded by more construction hearts.

Daniel had a vase of a dozen red roses on our kitchen table for me.

As I walked around the house, I found hearts with notes from Daniel.  Here are some:

For dinner Daniel had called my mom to get the recipe for her meatloaf. I really only like my Mama's meatloaf recipe :) He was so sneaky and I didn't have a clue.

The funnies part of the dinner was the meatloaf preperation. Daniel knows that when you work with meat you need to brown it. So he put it in the skillet and browned that meat. Now for those of you that know meatloaf, you don't brown the meat, but mix it raw with all the ingredients and then bake it.  It's been awhile since I've made meatloaf, so I couldn't remember the steps. I was pretty confused when his hands turned pink and he had a hard time getting all the meat grease and ketchup off. When he asked me how to know when they meatloaves were done, it all came back to me!  Hahah. We loved our meatloaf sloppy joes!  After dinner I opened the wrapped gift from my bed. He had bought me a book while in Europe for my next book club meeting! It is called Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton.  Supposedly it is a great book, but isn't sold in the US.  So Mr. Sneaky had contacted a distributor in London to see if he could buy the book for him.  I had mentioned it to Daniel while he was in Europe, but he had already moved onto Spain and said it wouldn't be possible. That sneaky guy!

We then watched Far and Away, a movie that Daniel said he hadn't seen. This is a common occurrence at our home. Daniel says he hasn't seen it until we start watching the movie and then he remembers he has seen the movie.  So as we started Far and Away, I jokingly said he had until 7:30 to make his "I HAVE seen this movie" comment. We started watching and low and behold he started asking me if this and this happens in the movie.  Yep. He was describing the end of the movie and it was 7:30! That kid and movies! He was  good sport though and watched the whole thing with me!

It was another fantastic Valentine's Day. Crazy to think we'll be celebrating it next year with our little girl :)

  1. Lol! Spencer is that exact same way with movies!! It happens ALL the time! It seriously has become a big joke because of how often it has happened! That is hysterical that they both do that! :)
