Burningham Family Halloween Party

This year our family went as the characters from Little Red Riding Hood. Variah was Little Red, Everett was the big bad wolf, Daniel was the woodcutter and I was granny. I made the costumes which were pretty easy to do and fun as well.

Little Red helping pop feed his chickens

They somehow let these two cross the border?!

Hiccup, Toothless and Astrid

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

We did one of my all time favorite Halloween activities from Beal family parties of my childhood...
a sawdust scramble!! Growing up my Grandpa Fred would put money and a bag of pumpkin taffy into a pile of sawdust and all the grandkids would get a chance based on age to dig through the sawdust and collect as much as you could find. I loved it growing up and got super excited when I saw my folks were doing it with my kids!

Everett even got in on the action

Trey wasn't afraid to get dirty

The adults searched for all the money that was left behind by the kids.
The kids only wanted the candy!

After the sawdust scramble we had a doughnut eating contest

And if that wasn't enough sugar....

I brought the dessert...

Spider infested cake
I made my mom cut into the cake to discover the center was full of spiders!

It was a fun Halloween party
