Some of my first cookies that I made. The wedding dress cookies were the only ones I sold in June, the others were just practice cookies
Carsten Came to visit us. Variah and him played so well together! I loved watching them play. Variah even got to help Carsten with his shoes
After listening to the kids fight over Variah's baby doll, I decided to buy Everett his own. The only boy baby was a hispanic baby. I jokingly called him Jose on the phone with my mom and that name stuck.
Everett was so excited to have his own baby
The breaking up of the cement pad was the next phase of our backyard project. Daniel took a sledge hammer to the cement and broke it up all in one night!
We had Variah's last soccer game. Larlie and Pop came to cheer her on
The kids running on the field
Variah got a participation trophy and was pretty excited about it
I was in charge of the treats for the last game, so I made soccer cookies for the kids
The next step was to take off the back stairs. Jeff Jeppson, our very helpful and ready handy man helped Daniel take it apart
All gone!
Since the guys were filling up Jeff's trailer and heading to the dump, we decided to rip out the pine tree that I don't like
Trimming the branches off
All gone! It looks so nice and really opens up our side yard
Our cute neighbor Aubree came over to chat one afternoon and was the cutest with Variah. They went for a walk and I couldn't pass up the cute picture of the two of them holding hands!
There is just something about kids wearing pants on their heads that makes me laugh!
Variah had to stay in her bed ALL night for 30 days so she could get a bike.
She did it and picked out the princess bike. She was pretty excited about it
Morning snuggles
Daniel was a sweetheart and gifted me a cookie class from Sugarbliss at Orson Gygi cooking store in Salt Lake. It was such a great experience and I learned so much about how to decorate cookies better! I am so glad I was able to go
These are the cookies I made at the class-we used an airbrush, a kopy kake (a machine like a projector for decorating cakes and cookies) and some wafer paper flowers. It was crazy to use all those different things for the cookies! So much fun though
The kiddos got to play in the rain one afternoon. They got soaked, but they had so much fun.
This little guy LOVES to help me make and prepare food. I wonder if some day he'll be a great chef
Making all the frosting for my second cookie order. I was making super hero cookies for my friend Lindsay's nephew's birthday party
Look at all of that frosting!
This is what a typical spring/summer day looked like for us-all the toys outside on the lawn
We mostly played in the front yard everyday cuz the backyard looks like this
2nd Sunday dinner at the Taylor's house
Great Grandpa Carson told the kids about the trading post he owned on the Reservation in New Mexico. He spoke some Navajo for the kids. Everett was a fan of the tomahawk.
In order to pour the cement for the new patio, Daniel had to re configure the sprinklers
The Relief Society President stopped by to talk to me about my new calling-Relief Society Assistant Secretary. Of course I was napping and the house was a MESS! Love it
I love when these two play together
I also got a new bike when Variah got hers. So we were able to go for some bike rides before the weather got too hot
Making the cookies for the super hero party
All of these took me about 4 hours to decorate!
I got this picture from Lindsay of the cookies at the party for Rigby, her nephew. I thought they looked pretty cute!
These guys sure do love their dad and miss him like crazy when he is out of town! We all miss him!
Pouring the cement patio!!
We added some cement to the pad by the garage door. We want to be able to put our garbage cans here rather than in the garage.
All poured just needing to dry and have the lines cut a few days later
Celebrating Daniel on Father's Day
We also play lots with Sophie and Lexi Jeppson. The girls are 6 months younger than Variah so it works out great to have these 3 girls play together. Cute Sophie loves doing what the other 2 girls are doing, so Molly and I do our best to help her.
I LOVE that Variah is friends with someone that has special needs. We are all lucky to have Sophie as a friend!
We went to the Library to check out books and play
V loved this magnetic toy
We turned Everett's carseat around and he was super happy to be able to be facing forward!
The lines were cut into the cement and it looks so good!
Sticker fun
This boy loves to eat
Finalizing the sprinklers with the cement pad in place
This girl melts my heart! She loves to pose for pictures and I can't help but love those glasses
Watching some cartoons together. Sure love these two!
Variah's soccer pictures-look at that beautiful face
All done with the sprinklers, ready for some more topsoil to level things out
During June and July we had playdates every Tuesday and Thursday with all the girls Variah's age. The girls rotated homes, so I had to host only 2 or 3 times but had somewhere fun for Variah to go on those days for 2 hours. We made rice crispies and played outside this playdate
The wheelbarrows all lined up and ready for the "topsoil spreading party"
We had help from the Young Men...and of course Jeff.
It looked so good!
We also decided to tell our families that I was pregnant. This is the picture we texted to everyone
Another cookie order for an office staff at a local school for a friend
And a bouquet of flowers for that same friend's son's teacher
Our steps were built
Now we can go outside our back door to enjoy the...dirt?
June was a busy month with a TON of work done in the backyard by Daniel. It seemed like every Saturday he was out working on some project to get things just right. He worked super hard.
