Here's to New Holidays

Another thing I love are holidays I used to hate. I used to hate New Years Eve and Valentines Day. Being single, those holidays just weren't any fun. Mind you, I did have some awesome New Years with my cousin Aly, but I really dreaded that holiday. I felt that you just HAD to do something cool so you could tell people about it later. Despite my earlier post about accepting my "nerdiness", I wasn't about to accept the label of "loser" as well. So I always felt like I had to do something cool even if I just wanted to sit at home and watch the ball drop on TV. Valentines Day was no exception either. There's so much pressure on that day! If you don't have a significant other, you feel the pressure to find one. If you have one in the form of a boyfriend or girlfriend, you feel the pressure to impress them without going overboard and scaring them off! AHH, the madness. Well, now that I am married, I love those holidays. My first date with Daniel was actually to a hockey game on News Years Eve last year. This year, we traveled back from Colorado with his dad and lil sister Camille. We had dinner and hung out here at our apt. I think we watched the ball drop, I don't even remember. I do remember no stress! This year for Valentines Day, I had the day off from work-love those furlough days! I went to run errands and found all these hearts in my car with love notes from Daniel.

That night I made him dinner and decorated the kitchen-rather than his office like I'd planned-with hearts and love notes. (our minds think alike I guess). Daniel even surprised me with a dozen long stem roses. I love these NEW holidays!

Just the four of us. . Chasing after lost dogs, playing guitar hero til late hours of the evening. Unforgettable! You really look so pretty in that picture of you and Daniel.
