In our ward, I am the Laurel Advisor, so that means I got to go to Girls Camp this year. I was so excited. Turns out, girls camp is different when you are a leader. When we were setting up camp, the girls were asking me where things went or if they could go to the bathroom. At first, it caught me off guard cuz I didn't feel like the authority. I was just there to have fun camping. When the rain hit the second day, I realized I was a leader when I had to tell girls what to do to stay dry. I realized it again the third day when it was time for Camp Certification and no one wanted to do it. I really realized it when it came time to take down camp-now that was a joke! There was garbage everywhere from the girls! I was shocked. I realized it the most during Testimony meeting when the girls taught me about faith. It rained pretty hard one night on us. In fact, our little town of Wallsburg made the news for so much rainfall. During testimony meeting, several girls talked about how they were afraid of the storm and that their tents might fall down on them. Rather than coming to us leaders, they prayed. One girl said she could tell her "tentmate" was awake and afraid too. She asked her friend if she had prayed, then after hearing she had, she asked if they could pray together. How thankful I am to have been a leader at girls camp so that I could hear those sweet testimonies. Going to camp as a leader is a different, but amazing experience!

SWAT= Sisters With Awesome Testimonies

I found notes in my things throughout the week. When the bishopric came up the last night, they brought with them a rose and note from my hubby!

We spread our "Faith" to other wards by pelting them with Marshmallows from our Mallow Guns

We kept dry during the rain by putting the SUVs back to back and draping a tarp from the back of them to create a wigwam.

I love the SWAT idea and the marshmallow guns. Looks like so much fun. Girls camp really is different when you are the leader.
