Dinner In Bethlehem

Daniel's family does a dinner Christmas Eve much like a dinner you might have in Bethlehem.  They have been doing this for several years, probably about 10. They eat soup out of wooden bowls, have a loaf of homemade bread which they rip pieces off of, sliced pears and water to drink.  They eat their meal sitting on blankets on the floor.  After their meal they watch the Luke 2 video as a family.  The first couple of years they dressed up like people of Bethlehem, but after some complaints they decided to do without the costumes.

We had the dinner a week before Christmas Eve because Norman, Debbie, Camille and Ashley were flying to Maryland to be with Daniel's bro.'s family. This was my first year participating in the dinner. I had a good time.  I have found that Daniel and I are not very good at taking pictures at the Taylor get togethers. Anna or Norman are usually the photographers, so we are lazy about pictures, shame on us! Hopefully we'll be much better this year about taking pictures!

After dinner we opened up presents, chatted and then played some games. It was a fun night with the Taylors.
