Summer

Daniel surprised me with this note and treats my last day of school. Yep, I cried because he's so sweet and thoughtful. He asked me to unpack his lunchbox while he changed out of his work clothes. He'd never asked me to do this, but I decided to help out anyway.  He kinda had this smirk on his face when he asked me and once I opened the lunchbox I knew why.

So I've been out of school now for almost 2 weeks. It has been great. I love not having to get dressed in anything but comfy clothes. It has been nice.

The day after my last day of school, June 7th, we had a Relief Society Auction of Talents. Because I love to cook I decided my talent would be a cake. I found the idea on a website.  It was fun to make and it went for 20 points. The most anything went for was upper 20's.  Here is my cake:

Before my mom flew out to Arizona on the 14th, we had a day of making freezer meals. We made 23 of them! It was a tiring day, but great to spend that day with my mom. It will be really nice to just pull those meals out of the freezer and heat them up after our little one is here. I'm sure Daniel will appreciate it too.  Here are all of the meals, ready to be frozen:

We made some for my folks, Chelsea and us.  We made 4 different types of meals.  The containers all came from Dollar Tree and the food for the recipes we got from Costco and Smiths. Some of the meals will actually be 2 or 3 meals after they are cooked.  Now we just need a freezer for these tasty treats :)  Luckily my mom has room in her freezer and is storing the food for us.

Lots has happened this month with all the babies...Daniel's brother's wife Tiffany had their little girl Marika on the 1st. Chelsea (my little sister) had her little boy Carsten on the 2nd ( about 1 1/2 months early).  Carsten is doing great. He's been on oxygen, but is able to nurse and will be going home with Chels and Dustin soon.  Hooray! Laura (my bro. Christian's wife) had her little boy Jack on the 16th. Grandma Larlie (my mom) is there for the next month to kiss those cheeks all day long.  I'm jealous of those new moms cuz they get to cuddle with their little ones already. I just want to meet our little Variah, but I know she needs to stay in until July 21st.   My mom has told me to tell Variah she can't do any "tricks" by coming early.  My mom won't be back to Utah until the 12th of July.  So no early baby for me.

Daniel and I have been taking a birthing class every Monday night at our hospital.  The first night we watched a birthing video-WOW! The next week we we worked on breathing techniques. Monday night we learned about C-sections and medications for labor.  Next week is our last class and we get to take a tour of the hospital. It has been good to learn so much and I've found I'm not so nervous to go to the hospital like I was that first day of class. I kinda know what to expect now, kinda being the key word!  As of Thursday I will be a month away from my due date! I have my dr. apt tomorrow. We'll see what she has to say.
