HAPPY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY

So this post was supposed to go up a few days ago but due to my never posting I couldn't get into the blog from my computer.  So I've had to find a way to do it on C's computer without her knowing.  I probably ramble a bit but oh well.  This is for Courtney:

I just wanted to take a minute and post some of what I've been thinking the last few weeks and months as we have neared our 2 year anniversary.  First I want to say how incredibly amazing my beautiful wife is. For starters she has to put up with me on a daily basis which I know is not easy.  I find it humbling how much the Lord knows me and knew what type of person I would need in a wife.  One of the things that caught my attention early on in our dating relationship was how C treated me.  There was something different about it, but very, very good.  I could tell that when she talked to me she actually cared about what I was saying and often times followed up days later to see how things went.  She also had to remind me on several occasions to feed myself since sometimes I got so busy that I would either forget or just didn't care enough to eat.

Now, two years later (which is amazing to think we have been married two years) I still find that she loves me and cares about me. She still makes the effort to do things for me and to make sure that I am happy.  Many times I know she does this while making a sacrifice on her part.  I know that sacrificing for you partner is part of marriage but living it and having someone do that for you is totally different than just saying it.  I think because I was single for so long that I never thought that someone would care for me like that.  So to finally be living if for the last few years has been an great experience.  I sometimes pinch myself hoping I don't wake up from a dream because that would make me cry.

I look at how much C does for our family and especially the sacrifices she has made and is making to be a mother and it has given me a new level of respect for her.  She gave up her career as an outstanding teacher, then gave up many of the niceties and comforts of life through pregnancy, and now most of the things that she enjoys to be a full-time mother.  And she still finds ways to make me happy.

(addition) Recently we celebrated our 2 year anniversary and she decided to take me to the "outback."  I came home to a house that was decorated like Australia and homemade dinner as if it had come from Outback Steakhouse, but better, and the movie "Rescuers Down Under."  Her creativity puts me to shame.  It was a great evening even with a little one that didn't want to go to sleep.

Courtney, you are an amazing wife and mother and I cant tell you how blessed I am to have you in my life.  Thanks for saying yes!  And Happy Anniversary!!!

Love Daniel:)
