3 year Anniversary

Since Daniel was gone for our anniversary (10/14) and when he got back we were a little busy recovering from the crazy week, we celebrated our anniversary late. We celebrated Friday Oct. 25th. This year I was in charge so I came up with something we could do here at our house eliminating our need to get and pay a babysitter.  I got the idea from Pinterest. Seriously what did we do without Pinterest? Sit in homes that weren't decorated, eating Mac and Cheese, while staring at each other?  I am very thankful for pinterest and all those creative people out there that share their great ideas!

Here is the gift that was waiting for Daniel when he came out from putting Variah down for the night.

This was on the counter out of sight, well out of Daniel's sight that is

Inside was a small volleyball with Variah's handprint on it

Reading the card that explained to Daniel what we were going to do that night...

Star Gazing!

In the box I had warm hats for us, a headlamp, a new thermos (for the hot chocolate in the cocoa latte), marshmallows and cookies for smores

I also had a new shirt for Daniel

Outside in our fire pit I'd put a fire starting log and on the benches I had our marshmallow roasting sticks and lots of newspapers so we could have a fire with smores. I had matches hidden in my hoodie pocket so Daniel didn't have to do anything. I started up the fire and took care of everything.

Daniel's eyes were having a hard time staying open for the pictures :)

After the smores we watched Safe Haven on my computer and cuddled up on a tarp and blankets I'd set out earlier during Variah's afternoon nap. Don't worry, it was all bundled up in the tarp so everything stayed clean and bug free.

All cuddled up and ready to watch the movie-Daniel turned off the headlamp for the movie. We even had hot chocolate in our new thermos to help us keep warm.  And after the movie we did some stargazing-can you believe that was our first time stargazing together? Crazy

I made jell-o stars for our dessert-they did NOT come out of the mold in star shapes, just little blobs of jell-o.  Oh well!

With glow in the dark stars I wrote a message for Daniel and gave him orbit gum.

Daniel gave me a clutch for our anniversary. Now I can put my phone in it and carry it instead of a purse-makes it really easy for a diaper bag!

It was a fun night. I loved that we were able to stay at home and still have a fun night.  I am so thankful for my husband and my little Variah!  Daniel is such a great father to Variah-always playing with her as soon as he gets home from work.  He puts her to bed every night and gets up with her in the morning! I am very blessed.  He takes care of me and does anything to make me happy-really.  Sometimes I get mad at him because he thinks of me before himself. I have to tell him to be selfish and do what he wants-but that doesn't work very well cuz he still does what I'd want.  Such a selfless man! Those 30 years of being single were worth the wait for sure! He is my wish come true!
