This little boy makes me laugh
I love moments like these
Our handsome little dude
And our beautiful little girl
We celebrated V's birthday by starting it off with a #4 Sprinkle pancake
I sure love that face
Her first present of the day...a shirt to wear that day
This cute girl Lexi was a Mia Maid when I was first put into the YW presidency. She babysat for us all the time until she got a full time job. The kids still love her. Lexi knew it was V's birthday so she bought her a bag of dum dum suckers and apple juice. It was the sweetest thing ever! And Variah loved it! So thankful for great examples in my kiddos' lives!!
I got all of us ready to go see some horses. I'd found a horse stable by our house and talked with the trainers to see if we could come look at the horses and maybe Variah could sit on a horse. So that was going to be our fun activity for her birthday since she LOVES horses. Just as we were about to leave the house and get in the van, a migraine hit. I couldn't see very good and knew it wouldn't be safe to drive to the stables. So we tried waiting it out...I seriously just wanted to cry. Variah was so very sweet and understanding about the whole thing!
I turned the TV to Disney Jr. and climbed into my bed to see if resting would make the migraine go away. No such luck! But i did have some cute little ones checking up on me
To make things better I decided to let the kids each eat a birthday cupcake. V wanted a unicorn and horse cake for the day. I did the next best thing- horse and unicorn cupcakes.
I called Daniel around lunchtime and explained the situation. He was able to come home right away and head to the horse stables and a horse show with Variah while Everett and I slept. Thankfully the migraine was mostly gone by the time they came back-just the dull pain lingered.
For her dinner she wanted a waffle bar. So that is what we had. We invited Grandma and Grandpa Taylor as well as Larlie and Pop for dinner and dessert.
I loved that they were all able to come. Variah loved having them all there!
Opening presents
It turned out to be a good day and everything worked out...not according to plan, but she was happy and hopefully had a great day!
I left the room and came back to see that Everett had taken a can of corn from the box on the counter, took it to the drawer, and got the can opener out!
Here is the can he was trying to open-he loves anything to do with cooking!
Our little baby
She got a birthday present from Lexi and Sophie...
A pink horse that makes galloping noises and sparkle sounds
Going for a horse ride
Yep, she loves it. They also gave her the pink hat that lights up!
Everett likes it too!
Our stairs were finally built
He put the stickers there all by himself and was so proud!
I got out of the shower one day to find corn nuts chewed up and spit out all over the floor. So I made the kids vacuum the mess up!
My matching July 24th kiddos
We went to a splash pad one day
These two had a ton of fun playing together
Eating some snacks under the umbrella
Flying home Daniel was upgraded to first class and got to sit by Ty Burrel an actor from a show we watch, Modern Family.
Variah loves getting out my "baby books" and looking at the pictures of what the baby looks like each week. It is pretty darn cute
The last play date we hosted at our house for the summer. The girls made a trail mix and we ate it outside while we waited for the moms to pick up the girls
One afternoon it got pretty quiet. V came running out of the room and told me that Everett had pulled the curtains down because he wanted more sunshine. Sure enough when I went into the room the curtains were off the wall. I asked V who did it and she blamed Everett. I just told her that it makes Heavenly Father very sad when she lies and the He knows if she is telling the truth or not. She said, "then pray to Heavenly Father and he will tell you if I'm telling the truth". Later that night she confessed to Daniel that she pulled the curtains down.
We had so much fun at the splash pad that we went to another one in Daybreak
Variah's friend Jordan was there too
Everett loved getting his head wet
Another cookie order...this one was for my friend Lindsay Camp's son's 3rd birthday.
Thank you cookies for a girl that babysat for us and wouldn't take money
Some fun back to school cookies
Just playing around
My daily lunch for the month-fresh tomatoes from Farmer Lukes with Mozzarella cheese, a drizzle of olive oil and sprinkled with basil.
We went up to the Roy Aquatics center to swim with Carsten, Trey, their moms, Larlie and Caitlyn. This hug is a rare thing-Carsten doesn't like hugs much
This little guy loved walking around holding Cait's hand
All of the kids were little fish in the kiddy area
they had a little slide these two had fun playing on
The sun came out after lunch and made it lots warmer-thankfully the water is heated though
We had lots and lots of fun in July-getting out and playing in water was probably our favorite activity for the month!
