Wow, Variah's already 3 months old!! Time really does fly with these little ones. We love having her in our home. She makes funny faces and will smile the biggest smile for us, which just makes us laugh and smile!
While Daniel was gone in Europe, Variah decided she didn't like being alone in the backseat. She started crying/screaming in her carseat anytime I drove anywhere with her. The first time was while I was driving up to my parents' house the weekend of my birthday. It made me sick just listening to her cry so hard. It happened several times during those 2 1/2 weeks. One time she cried from woods cross to our home-35 minutes!! Most babies calm down and fall asleep. Not this one!
So because she doesn't take a binky or a bottle and screams in the car, life kinda got hard. No more going places for me without a prayer and a bit of anxiety. I got lots of different suggestions for getting her to be happy in the car. None of them really worked consistently for us.
While I was getting ready for Time Out For Women with Daniel's sisters, Variah was in her bouncer. I was blowdrying my hair and she was getting a bit fussy. I kept blowdrying my hair and noticed she began to calm down and then fell asleep. She hardly ever falls asleep unless we are holding her. So I quickly got Anna to download an app that sounds like a hairdryer. It worked like a charm that whole weekend! She'd get fussy, we'd put the phone next to her and she'd calm down, sometimes she'd even fall asleep. It is my new go to sound when she's fussy in the car or anywhere else! Hooray for the hairdryer!!
These are her "flash" eyes. Her eyes get super big when the flash goes off or when she sees the camera/phone. I love it!
I couldn't get her to look at me she was so mesmerized with the dots on her dress!
We sure love our Variah Ann!
