So this time around I decided to have her sit in her little rocking chair. When grandkids get married, my Grandpa Burningham makes them a little rocking chair for their future kids. I love the tradition. When we were little kids we'd always sit in the little red rocking chair at his house. I don' know if that is why he does it, but I love the rocking chairs. I was lucky and got 2 chairs when I got married. The other chair is a cool soldier chair. My grandma even embroidered the seat cushion. I love that chair now for more than the cool design, I love that my grandparents made it and I'll alway have it to remind me of them, esp. since my grandma has passed on. Anyways, back to Variah....
We'll see how long sitting in the rocker will last! She loves to be moving and playing with things. She is great at using her little pinchers to pick things up and shake them. And then of course put them in her mouth. Daniel was in the Dominican Republic for a week in March so I was at my parents house. We were able to play outside in the backyard some of the days. Variah loved picking up the leaves and grass, shaking them and then dropping them. I was pleased that she didn't put them in her mouth. Well, the next day she started putting them in her mouth :) Oh well, that's how she learns about most things, by tasting them!
Love that cute little bum
Thanks Caitlyn for the darling outfit
The one on the right is her trying to be shy when she was looking at herself in the camera.
We still had warm weather when Daniel got back so we went for a walk. Since Variah is good at sitting up on her own, we decided she didn't need to be in her carseat in the stroller anymore. This was the first time we've tried her sitting up in the stroller. She LOVED it! She could look at everything going on around her.
Another thing Variah loves is feeding herself. She loves eating puffs and will cry during a feeding if she hasn't had a puff in awhile. She'll put her hands in front of her face and won't let you feed her until she has eaten or has a puff in her mouth. I've made some sweet potato fries for her and some diced pears covered in cheerio powder that she has been loving as well. I figure they are healthier for her and last longer than puffs. Luckily she will even eat the fries cold. Really I think it is just a matter of being able to feed herself!
The pear bits covered in cheerio powder so she can actually grab them.
And last but not least, here is proof that she LOVES being growled at and chased.
So cute...she is beautiful!
