Announcing...

On February 19th, this was the picture text message we sent out to our family members

Even this pregnancy was kinda crazy.  Because of my miscarriage my doctor wanted me to come in at my 5th week for an ultrasound.  I wasn't planning on meeting with Dr. Twelves, but during the ultra sound the tech asked me several times if I was seeing my dr. After she had asked us a couple of times, Daniel and I both told each other later, that we were starting to wonder why she kept asking us.  At the end of the ultra sound she said she wanted to check with Dr. Twelves to see if she had time to visit with us so we didn't have any questions over the weekend.  Okay, kinda weird.  She came and told us Dr. Twelves could meet with us.  So into a room we went.  The first thing that Dr. Twelves said when I saw her was, "Why can't you be normal?" I replied, "Why don't you come sit down and tell me why I am not normal."  She then went over my ultra sound and told me that there were two sacks, one had debris and the other had a baby in it with a heartbeat.  WHAT? So in other words there was a possibility I had miscarried a twin and the result was the debris in the second sack.  She wanted to meet with us again the next week to make sure everything was okay.  Turns out in that ultra sound that my body absorbed the second sack and the debris.  This is called vanishing twin I found out thanks to the internet. Everything was fine with the baby and she was able to get a good heartbeat.  So we left with an appointment on the 19th of February, about a month later.  After we got a good look on the ultrasound and heard a good heartbeat, we felt like we could tell everyone the good news.

Here are some pictures I took of Variah reading her new I'm a Big Sister book:

I love that her ankles are crossed!

And of course some pictures of her on her slide-she loves it! She calls it her "weeee"

The cutest big sister ever-in our family :)
